Elmonus visited Wake just a little more than a week ago during spring camp.

“All of the amazing things they showed me — like the field and the campus — just fit right into my mind as the perfect place to live,” Elmonus said. “But it was really the coaches that sealed the deal. They seemed the most genuine and all I heard from several people was that they were the best of the best.”

The 6-foot-7, 255 pound tackle was also being recruited by Wofford, Coastal Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and Duke.

The Wake coaching staff helped set the Deacs apart from the pack.

“They were awesome and was glad to meet them,” he said. “It also gave me another reason to be confident in the coaching staff.”

Elmonus has both the athleticism and frame to be an impact offensive lineman in the ACC.

“I’m pretty good at finishing blocks and getting down the field,” Elmonus said.

Asked if there’s anything else Wake fans needed to know, Elmonus had an interesting answer.

“They need to be watching for my touchdown dance,” he said.

A Beef Boys touchdown forthcoming? It sounds like it.
